Interesting, that's one I've never heard about. Surprizing that
my grandfather didn't use that method in the foot-hills of
Louisiana. He rarely went anywhere except to church without his
hunting dogs along. That could be connected to his decision.
Whenever we went into the hills we always spent time on the back
porch checking for tics when we got back. Seems that I remember
my grandmother's favorite method for removing them was kerosene.
