1237c45119c8 tech Hello Wayne - CA>>> I've had two more AMIs in the past year or so. Doctors CA>>> seem to feel it takes six months to recover from one of CA>>> those but heart muscle dies each time and cannot replace CA>>> itself. :-\ WC>> Well have you used beta blockers these times around to to WC>> minimize damage? CA>> No, no doctors. WC> Why? No funds I don't know many who could pay the costs from their own pockets. Not that there aren't any just that I don't hang with that wealthy a crowd. No medical insurance if that's what you mean. My stepfather's heart surgery was $240K, my brother's was $380k. All together the insurance companies have spent over $500k keeping my stepfather alive this past decade. And after my brother's appendicitis and surgery he is probably pushing close tho that amount now. (FoMoCo employee - good insurance) I have never taken daily medication for my knee or my shoulders and take no medication of any type for any reason on a regular basis. I do take one aspirin and one vitamin when I remember to. :-) I have returned to the same hospital I was born in twice. Once when I smashed off the end of one finger and once again for physical therapy to regain the use of my left arm. I tell them it's "warranty work" but they always charge me for it anyhow. :-) WC> or is it because we are alike in that regard? A bit of WC> hipocracy preaching to me about that broken ankle that WC> turned black I had if the latter. Of course I said the same WC> to you about beta blockers ;-) P When I was scanning for what was happening to me I happened to find "Charcot's Ankle" and noted that it was something few people would think of as life threatening. I only mentioned it because life is like that. I discover information of no value to me then someone mentions that exact situation. I sometimes think it is my 'purpose' in knowing and I pass the information along. I don't preach, I just mention it. Many years ago my being 'online' was really an accident of sorts. My sister developed a very deadly version of cancer. In those days most people online were either doctors, lawyers, or college professors. I put out a request for information and an onocologist sent pages and pages of information that my sister used to determine what steps to take and what opinions to trust. In those times good solid information was not easy to find. She underwent surgery then once more to double check after the chemo. She is still with us after 20+ years now. I think my being online was for that purpose and everything else I have used a computer for is just peripheral to that. WC>> I went grocery shopping 12 hours after spinal surgery and WC>> my sister can vouch for that, nothing but tylanol 3 for WC>> painkillers either. WC> I did have a morphine pump hooked up but pulled a macho WC> routine and never touched it after a nurse informed me some WC> guy had made it out of there in 24 hours without resorting WC> to using it, the unused morphine was charged to the WC> hospital bill anyway. Told her I'd beat that and she said WC> "We'll see if you're here when I come on shift at noon WC> tomorrow. I was at the grocery store at 10:45 and home WC> before 11:30. WC> Beat the previous record by just over three hours. Working with my dad on construction work taught me many things I did not know before then. (I was 19) One concept that took awhile to learn was that the real 'heros' in life are the men who get up in the dark of mid-winter and drive sometimes for hours to get to the job site and step out into the cold for 8 or more hours then come home and behave as gentlemen. No 'taking it out on the kids' or the wife. Mother nature is a cruel mistress in the northern winters and her breath burns your face like fire. I was embarassed at my juvenile fantasies of what a hero was and I did eventually discuss this with my father before he departed. CA>> So admit it, you'r a 700 year old 'Highlander' and they CA>> will have to cut off your head to stop you - right? WC> Used to feel that way. Reality intruded. Your loyalty to your pit-bull speaks more to your courage and masculinity than the mistake of not being more kind to yourself. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
