For a 33,600 connect using 244 byte packets, the maximum without data 
compression will be within a whisker 4016 cps after allowing for overhead in 
the error correction protocol (and assuming no packets need to be resent -- a 
very optimistic assumption at 33k6).

Do you want my pathological case .ZIP file? It contains a mass of 1 byte 
files with the .ZIP file size around 2.3MB. It transfers like an ASCII text 
file which gave the original creator of this file bragging rights on transfer 
speeds on a "compressed" file.
