WC> Thought it was the script but manually logging in while WC> more reliable has beena pain as well. Sorry I can't check a standard DUN for W98 here for you. I suspect the need to bypass the MSCHAP v5 may be one of your problems (timeouts). A 45K connect is nothing to feel bad about it's the best I can do and I really doubt many do much better. I read about people doing better but I've never stood at a machine and watched it do a connect beyond 45.2k so far. Makes you skeptical when you can't see it for yourself. I believe better connects are doable with present hardware but I also think ISPs throttle users down to what the market will tolerate to maximize their own bandwidth and oversell their capabilities. I know some here on FIDO who allow people to use their system as an ISP admit to doing this as do FIDO sysops about up/download speeds etc. Seems there is no point in having the capability to strangle bandwidth if you never use it so just about everyone uses it? Give a kid a gun and a box of bullets, sit back and wait and a neighbor's pet or some tweety birds are gonna die sooner or later. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
