DM> Yup, that's a SERIOUS upgrade there... :-)
Yes, I thought so. Everyone around me thought I was totally out of my mind
for trying it out, and then even more when I loved using it. Now, if only
they could see how great it is .
DM> A few questions... your code... what was it? DOS or GUI? If GUI,
DM> did it use classes (MFC or OWL)?
Currently, I building DOS applications and Win16/Win32 Applications off of
Borland C++ (Doing a lot of work to get the Windows source running isn't
that important to me, since I rarely write those types of apps).
DM> Most people seem to recommend IBM's Visual Age C++ 3.0. I have a
DM> demo version that I have yet to try, but their OpenClass sounds
DM> like IBM's cross-platform answer to MFC (and, rumour has it that
DM> OpenClass is more OO than MFC ever dreamt of being).
I have asked this before to another person, however, can you give me an
approximate price?
DM> I also use the GNU port for OS/2: EMX (currently at 0.9b, fix #3).
The first reply I received spoke very highly of EMX, and before I research
the other compilers you recommended (Borland, Watcom, and IBM's), I'd like
to get a copy of it. Any clue where I FTP, FREQ, or download it from?
Thanks.
