At 14k4, sure. However, 28k8 is wringing almost the maximum bandwidth available from analogue phone lines, and some just can't cope. Example, this morning's connect to you was at 28800/26400 (the first figure is my receive link rate, so I was sending data to you at only 26400 bps). Russell Brooks has been complaining lately that since he moved, his 33k6 Courier can't connect better than 26400, so he brought it around here on the weekend. Instant 33600/33600 connects (at 4000 cps too). The stats he brought showed that the bandwidth of his line is insufficient to maintain the higher symbol rate necessary for good 28k8 connects. PE> No Bill, the USR Courier is stuffed. It can't handle 28800. Blame Telstra, not the modem. Regards, Bill --- Msgedsq/2 3.20* Origin: Logan City, SEQ (3:640/305.9) SEEN-BY: 640/305 711/934 |
