Trsek Wins Federal Women's Award

The 11th Annual Glenn Federal Women's Program Award was recently
presented to S.Erline Trsek during a Women's History Month observance
at NASA's Glenn Research Center, Cleveland.

This annual award is traditionally given to recognize the
contributions women in government are making within their workplace
and community. Trsek received this year's award in the
non-supervisory category after being nominated by three of her
colleagues as a positive role model for women in the Federal
workforce and for her exemplary leadership skills.

"Erline brings enthusiasm and persistence to everything she does. She
is invaluable to our organization," said Janeal Oprea, chief of the
Customer Interface Branch of Glenn's Computer Services Division and
Trsek's supervisor.

Trsek has held various leadership positions in Glenn's Business and
Professional Women's (BPW) organization and is a member of Glenn's
Speakers' Bureau with over 70 presentations made to organizations
throughout Ohio. She also actively mentors young women at Glenn and
within the greater community through the BPW Individual Development
Program and the Lake Erie Girl Scout Council/NASA Program.

Currently, Trsek is a Program Analyst in the Customer Interface
Branch of the Information Systems Division at Glenn, where she is
responsible for contract management, budget analysis and approval of
all computer hardware and software purchases at Glenn. Having joined
Glenn in 1965 as a secretary, Trsek was promoted in 1975 to the
position of administrative assistant after completing an upward
mobility program. She subsequently held positions in the Advanced
Communications Technology Satellite Office as well as the Space
Station Directorate.

The Glenn Federal Women's Program Awards are administered as a joint
effort between Glenn's Federal Women's Program and Women's Advisory
Group. Nominees are judged for leadership roles, goal setting,
self-motivation and membership in organizations.
