I think you are both deluding yourselves! The French have done pretty
well of late. In fact they have Airbus airliners selling all over the
world in direct competition with Boeing, a rocket program that regularly
launches satellites for many countries, nuclear reactors for sale to
whoever wants one, and countless other leading edge technologies. Let's
not even talk about the wines to which US wines by comparison seem like
mouth wash. They may have eminently stupid intellectual institutions and
politicians but you are dead wrong to underestimate the competition!
