BG> Okay, let's start again. From the POV of their respective BG> electronics divisions, I believe Samsung to be the biggest BG> company. Happy now? :) BL> ROFL! Does this mean you admit I was right? BG> Dunno, I thought you were specifically discussing the BG> electronics side of these companies. Mitsubishi also makes BG> supertankers, trains, planes, cars, etc., but I don't take that BG> into consideration when comparing them with other companies who BG> only manufacture electronics. Actually, no Korean company manufactures only electronics. Samsung makes shirts too. It was Korean-government policy after the war to set up these monstrous diversified Chaebols, like the Japanese zaibatsu. In Japan, Toshiba and Sony come close to an electronics-only company, but nothing like that exists in Korea. BL> Actually, I'm not sure which is the bigger in electronics. BL> Goldstar is pretty big. BG> There was an article in the paper within the last few months, BG> which gave hard figures relating to the Korean "new boys on the BG> block", and I'm almost certain that Samsung's net worth was the BG> highest (and by quite a bit too). In Korean chaebols, electronics is the least of it. From memory, Samsung smelts steel too.
