Factory was 6.00x16 which was replaced by 6.50 which is what's on the truck 
now.

I no longer would carry heavy loads so street tire should be satisfactory.

I hope these would not interfere inside the wheel wells.

Too wide I suspect. There are 16 inch truck tires out there today but nothing 
close to 6.50. I haven't yet put one on a rim to test the fit. Tire shops 
I've talked to so far fear they would be too wide.
