Hi, Paul.

PE> PE> Before I go and ask in the spirit echo for someone to try
PE> PE> FREQing from me, can you tell me whether you are using a
PE> PE> Spirit II or Spirit Thunder? I want to see if I hang up on
PE> PE> people who call at V32ter with retrains disabled.

PE> FM> It's a Thunder, in spite of what the label says. They had run out of
PE> FM> labels when I got my upgrade and I never bothered to fit it when they
PE> FM> eventually sent it to me.

PE> Brilliant.

PE> FM> Happy to do any test you want. Tell me how you want me to set up the
PE> FM> init string though, specifics for each register - I forgot all that
PE> FM> stuff after I'd done it, may not even be the best possible now.

PE> Can you do an AT*N8, to make sure you have V32ter enabled, or do
PE> an AT*O to see if you already have. V32ter = 19200 which is what
PE> I want to see if you can connect at.

Oh, I see. It already was *N8.

PE> FM> Discuss this voice if you don't want the day or so delay between mail.

PE> FM> BTW, in spite of what I've read here my call last night was at the old,
PE> FM> 200 and something CPS rate - are you back to 2400?

PE> No, I'm running 28.8k. I have seen you and Paul Markham connect
PE> at 2400. Disturbing to say the least. I think you might have
PE> adjusted your baud rate in Telix to 2400, in which case, your
PE> modem won't connect above 2400. Be careful though. After you
PE> have changed it to 38400, if you get a "CONNECT 19200", and then
PE> a bit later I hang up on you, it's probably my fault. You can

Here's what I've got, and AFAIK what I've always had. Note the 57600.
And I'm still getting 2400. I have changed *nothing* (consciously)
except adding those two 2-second delays to the Telix script to avoid
over-running you. I'll watch for the CONNECT message on this mail run,
but I don't think I get to see it as I'm running a script.

OK, but tell me the AT command to do those things. I guess you'll see
from the AT*O above whether or not I've got them enabled.

Sorry for the question, but it's not easy for me to look this stuff up.
When I moved the PC down here all my ref stuff stayed in the attic,
including the Spirit manual. The attic is now Robert's room, and he's
asleep.

Regards, FIM.
