Muscle is what holds us together and supports joints. I think
the physical condition of the patient combined with their
ability to heal after surgery (age?) are all factors in this.
Some heal so fast it's like magic. My father-in-law healed
three times faster than I did and he was in his 70's. My mother
heals faster than I do now. 

At the time of my shoulder injuries I was still in pretty good
shape. I may have made a mistake in turning down the surgery.
