I like the idea of a seamless interface where distinctions between
apps, and between apps and the OS, are hidden (if not removed
alltogether), and I think that such an interface is inevitable. It's
kind of like Netscape's browser-as-platform idea.
I don't know about the MS implementation, however, particularly given
the onerous copy protection mechanisms being built into MS systems.
