The easiest way, which doesn't always work, is to telnet to the
listening port and see if anything answers. ... telnet -p 6711
127.0.0.1
The next easiest thing is to start closing down running applications,
and see if one of them closes the open port.
You can also use 'iptrace' to log all traffic, 'ipformat' to generate a
readable file which can be searched for use of that port; but if it's
just listening and nobody talks to it, there will be nothing to log.
I'm curious to learn what you find.
