Whilst searching back through some old messages in this area,
trying to find where I had recorded the price of a USR
Courier V34, I found a message where I mentioned that Paul
Markham had offered to lend me his Courier for a trial!

Many many thanks to Paul, I have now taken him up on his offer
and I am proudly running at 28.8k, but my port speed is still
set at 38400. I will be trialling this modem until mid-February,
when the USRs are supposedly in-stock again at Modem Superstore.

If you want to do any tests, now is the time to do them. I was
thinking of moving the discussion into AUST_MODEM, but I have
changed my mind, and here will do. I will post more later.

BTW, it was the modem, not the power supply that was broken on
my Spirit. Verified with a modem and power supply provided by
Paul Markham also! Thanks again Paul! BFN. Paul.
