I agree wholeheartedly.  Another bogus money grab is all that crap really
is.  Probably a better way to digitize audio visual then doing it in real
time is to simply record to tape and then convert that later.  That way
there is no need for the latest hardware that proper software hasn't been
written for anyhow, and if it is, then it is highly unlikey that it is
available for general consumption.

Also, if DVD playing is all one really wants then a suitable DVD player and
either renting or buying whatever stupid DVDs is probably way cheaper and
better then some lame attempt to pirate DVDs and producing expensive crappy
knockoffs.  Man is that stuff (pirated) ever pathetic.  What a joke.
