JR> Be careful Aysha and don't turn you back on that bird...I believe he may
JR> be telling you that he is in love with you.... I have an older bird
JR> that is not with the rest of the herd. When I put him outside and in
JR> close proximity to the aviary, he does the same thing..Now I know that
JR> he would like to get into that aviary...
My male tiel has been in love with my brother ever since we brought him
home! Everywhere my brother goes, the tiel follows him. If my brother's
bedroom door is shut (and he is in there) the bird will sit in front of the
door for hours staring at the door knob! BUT! ever since I finished school
few months ago, I have had the birds with me most of time I'm home (tiel just
jumped onto my head), so perhaps you're right! My conure also does something
*strange* I can "pin-point" with him. He slowly bobs his head down and then
jerks it up really fast and pin points. He likes (I think!) for me to do it
along w/him and if I do it first, he'll join in (he stops if I don't "join
in" when he initiates)
Is this strange, or what?! Do you suppose, it's something similiar to what my
tiel is doing? I really think my birds are *different*! I know other people
with birds and they don't have half of the problems I have!
Oh by the way, we're buying a new nest box. The one we have is spacious (my
father made it!) but I dunno' maybe a store bought one will be better. The
cage is located on the house's second floor landing and the nest box was
sitting on the bottom of the cage. I'm telling you...my birds are wierd,
they're scared of their babies! I talked to a pet store -- they'll be more
than happy to take the babies for free once they hatch. If my birds don't
hiss and pick/peck at them and they feed them, I won't giv'em away -- that
is, until they've matured!
ttyl,
aysha
