Rod, at 12:57 on Jan 27 1996, you wrote to Bill Grimsley...

I thought that %E0 was common to ALL Rockwells. Tried it yet?

In which case, I'd be awfully surprised if %E0 didn't turn it off.

Urk! At this stage, I'd be HIGHLY inclined to call a few other Couriers
(say Poe, Dave D and Dave H) and see if the problem exists with those
calls. Given that I've never heard anybody else complain about your
problem, I wouldn't be too surprised if they worked just fine. It's not
very scientific using just one modem as a basis for a global complaint, is
it? :)

Then why has nobody else complained? Given the number of Couriers in use
on BBSs these days, I'd have expected to see the odd similar complaint pop
up from time to time, but I haven't. Not once.

BG> Dunno if you read the USR_MODEMS echo, but I know you read AUST_MODEMS,
BG> and nobody else has EVER reported similar problems with the Courier.

RS> I've seen that over and over again, one modem looks like gods gift to

LINE problems, Rod. Poe has even said so himself.

BG> Maybe Paul's place is jinxed...

RS> Or maybe the sun doesnt actually shine out of the USR VE's arse |-)

Sorry, but I've seen too many of them in use to think otherwise now.

Regards, Bill
