If it's a fast 486 system, a Pentium won't seem that much faster. Trouble is some software won't run on anything less but in truth what counts for running games is the video card as a 486 is plenty of cpu. GM> People tell me how they can buy used Pentiums for $50 in their GM> home town... well, I ain't there, and for that matter after the GM> essential bills are paid I ain't got $50 to spare either. The other day my little nephew spotted a computer case standing on the side of the curb and brought it over. The drives were missing but the cards were still in it. Turned out to be a Pentium II MMX 233MHz with about 168M mem. Adding in a HD it booted up nicely. I benchmarked the agp bus video card and it really flew but it's useless in w95 without the drivers as it only comes up in 16 colours. So I put in an old PCI card W95 knew about to get 256. The kid was thrilled to run the cereal box game CD's. Sorry for not writing sooner but fido was flakey around here... Mike **** ...
