BG> 130dB is a total waste for any real world need. 162dB is the record??
^^^^^
I nearly fell off my chair when I saw that! If you look at it, is
someone trying to reproduce the entire (96dB) (CD) dynamic range in a
vehicle? Take that 162dB, - 96 = 66dB, which I figure a quiet ride in a
well insulated vehicle could create as an ambient noise level.
Personally, I'd much prefer compression or limiting to artificially
"bring up" that lower level stuff than obliterating one's hearing and
causing the car to disintegrate as the the air bags blow :-) and the
worlds earthquake centres report a "rhythmic" earthquake "moving" along
a major highway... ;^)
BG> There's a research facility that is designed to destroy materials in
BG> the desert of Arizona that I think puts out 174dB. How many dB does it

Naahh... They're bringing that technology down in price for the average
thumpmobile... No longer is there a need for heavy machinery to break
up roadways. :-)
Over the last two years, I've noticed a decline in the thumpmobile
population around here. Either the men in blue are clamping down, or
the economy has suffered. I don't know. Maybe they've gone to
listening to chamber music.
See ya, Cameron Hall
