yes, as can most tossers released since Gerard van der Land's GEcho first
came on the scene... fact is that the original retear tool was written
specifically because of GEcho (IIRC) tattling on unregistered systems in its
tearline... i don't know who created the original retear tool but it didn't
take very long to get into widespread use... once retear was out, folk asked
their tosser's authors to put in a similar capability...

in any case, it is, by your very example, easy to put what you want into the
tearline which was my whole point ;)
