I thought that we had decided that all lines between me and
everyone else were perfect beyond a shadow of a doubt, no
possible glitches at all, and that there was ZERO chance that
failed connects with the Spirit could be due to line problems?

No Bill, the USR Courier is stuffed.  It can't handle 28800.
