PE> BTW, you are using hard-CRs and have a margin of about 80 PE> characters, which makes quoting bad. Could you either not PE> use hard-CRs, or reduce your margin to about 70? 74? I'm using TED as an editor for replies. I'll just have to make sure I dont exceed the 70-75 mark. PE> Ok, fair enough. BTW, did you see lots of errors with me? PE> Not many people call without EC, so I am wondering how you PE> fared with my Spirit, and now the USR. Or didn't you PE> monitor it at all? BFN. Paul. I don't monitor it as such. I cant give you facts and figures. I sit watching the download (only takes 40-50 seconds on average) and have not noticed much in the way of errors. I have a pretty bad line despite what Telescum says, I BBS a lot looking for Genealogical data, and always see line garbage appear on screen at Menu levels. I get to see a lot of BBS parts that dont interest me when the line noise just happens to be a menu choice. As to downloads, the only time I've had probs. is when I tried Windoze. Download CPS hover around 1400 cps and Bink says approx. 75% efficiency. I haven't noticed any real difference between your modems but was amused by the "echo noise" they generated. TTFN.
