Yep. I know of at least one occassion in 1985. A SF convention in
Melbourne. Amongst other things she read the first third of _The Ship who
Sang_ promicing that there'd be a audio version out "real soon".
She got a standing ovation at the end. It was beautiful.

There was also some person selling little silver & pewter dragons down
in the merchants room. I saw her during one of (what appears to be many)
visits to the stall, madly trying to work out what royalities were due,
what was the Aust. conversion & how many she could buy this time
