subject: [MPW] The Rap Sheet - Midwest Powerhouse Wrestling 5/8/2K4

Message-ID:

The Rap Sheet - from the Crimefighter
Midwest Powerhouse Wrestling "Championship Collision"
5/8/2K4 - Bethalto, IL

If you LOVE screwjobs and main event interviews, this was your show!

This rap sheet is posted in news:rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info, a newsgroup
many wrestling organizations could use to promote their shows but don't, and
the Rap Sheet Dossier at http://rap-sheet.tripod.com. Plus other locations
in the area where I can.

Every time I come to an MPW show, someone complains about me talking about
it. EVERY TIME. And they get madder when I refute and rebut their
complaints. So anyone reading this, I should point out there's a greater
threat against the wrestling world than me. If you are a fan of Scott
Keith, or ARE Scott Keith, you are considered a menace to the wrestling
world and must be silenced. Keith is destroying the WWE every time he
writes a Smark RAW Rant, or a SmarkDown Rant. In fact, he single-handedly
destroyed WCW giving several matches negative stars on their PPV's. He must
not be allowed to succeed in destroying the WWE, cause if the WWE is
destroyed, then the whole wrestling industry is destroyed. He must be
banished from the Internet before it's too late! It is vital you email the
owners of 411mania.com and tell them they must drop his column immediately
and contact the publisher of his upcoming book, "One Ring Circus: The Death
of the World Wrestling Federation", that being Citadel Press and demand they
suppress this book from being released right away. The health of the
wrestling industry depends on your quick action now!!!

The MPW President is Mr. Bigg, your ring announcer is Rod Jeremy, and your
promoter is Master Powell. A little kid sings the national anthem. That's
tricky and scary at the same time, but he was brave enough to pull it off.

In a true Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde moment, the man formerly known as Mr.
Insecurity, formerly known as Eberus, now known again as Mr. Insecurity
again comes out first dressed in a green jacket and says he has no idea who
Eberus is and the man he managed in the Legion formerly known as Gluttony,
now known as Scar, is really a nice guy. A man who chokeslams women is a
nice guy, uh right. He says Scar is not a monster. Cue in the man formerly
known as Sloth, who lost all the face paint and changed his name to Xavier
Frost. He's anti-American bashing the country and mocks Mr. Insecurity and
kicks him around prompting Scar to saunter out to the ring and give him a
piledriver. If Scar is such a nice guy, take the mask off!

MPW Women's Championship
Trinity 5'4" 140lbs. Miami, FL vs. Jaden 5'5" 140lbs. St. Louis, MO - It's
match 12,351,485 between them in the series and this time it's for the
women's title. The last MPW show I attended was supposed to award the title
to whichever one of these girls that scored the victory, but the man
formerly known as Gluttony jumped in the ring and chokeslammed them. Now
you know why I don't buy the idea Scar is a good guy. Due to Trinity's poor
display of sportsmanship the last time we were in Bethalto, she gets booed.
Jeremy the Ref is the official. Lockup to the corner, clean break. Lockup
again, chop Trinity, lockup to the corner another chop by Trinity, Jaden
flips her around and chops back, snap mare. Butterfly armbar Jaden,
FAMEASSER gets two. Rake Trinity, she kicks away, armwringer, hammerlock,
headlock. Jaden elbows out, whip spinkick Jaden, elbow, Irish whip corner,
monkeyflip gets Jaden two. Trinity knocks her down and does a standing hair
pull, legdrop gets a FAST two. Trinity slugs away, slam, she kicks away on
the mat, X-Factor gets a FAST two. Irish whip monkey flip Trinity gets a
FAST TWO. Sleeper Trinity, Jaden fights out of it, whip clothesline, suplex
gets a SLOW two. Jaden with a slam gets a SLOW two. Jaden whip spinning
jawbreaker, ref counts two, then stands up shaking his arm. Oh geez,
Jeremy's being a jackarse. Jaden gets in his face, Trinity rollup and
Jeremy counts an extremely fast three count. BS! By the way, that happened
to be the longest match of the night.

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Trinity pin -> 6:55 mins. *½

What the heck is Jeremy the ref's problem? He dating Trinity or something?
Was there a rhyme or reason he was deliberately helping Trinity here? And
Jeremy is a fairly new referee, who's not likely to hold his job for very
long. Jaden KO's Jeremy.

Before going to the next match, Rod Jeremy walks over to someone sitting in
the front row and says hello to Jay Fenix. He has been retired from
wrestling for a couple years after his brother called it quits and he
decided to follow suit. Rod Jeremy (not the ref) asks him what he's been
doing the past couple years to which he says he's been in college. Rod
tries to talk him out of retirement. Jay Fenix resists. I should point out
they were having problems with sound all evening. For you to be heard, you
had to talk directly in the microphone. Several guys didn't do that, and
STILL wouldn't do that when we shout that we can't hear them. Sigh. So I
can only be brief on the promos cause most of them were inaudible and
transcribing is impossible.

Christian Haze 6'3" 250lbs. Phoenix, AZ vs. Uriah 6'2" 175lbs.
"Heaven's
Underworld" - When did these guys split up? Up in NMW on May 22nd they're
scheduled to team against our tag champs Tuff-N-Stuff! Now they're feuding!
Oh great, they had to import a team from another fed cause the former champs
broke up and all the other potential challengers are tied up in other
matches, now the team we import has broken up before their tag title shot.
Uriah I absolutely do not care for, and hold a Uriah Sucks sign. Lockup,
waistlocks traded, takedown Haze. Headlock takedown Haze. Headlock Uriah,
shoveoff, crossbody caught, Haze with a powerslam. Suplex Haze, legdrop
gets two. Haze chops away, whip clothesline. Whip Haze, Uriah grabs onto
Haze and locks in Gail Kim's submission hold, which I don't have a name for,
but it's that flying armbar while hanging off the other guy's back. Someone
wanting to get out of it, all they have to do is a SAMOAN DROP! Uriah
releases it and does a flying headscissors, then a shining wizard. Suplex
gets Uriah two. He suddenly bails out and fetches a chair, the referee
takes it away. Shoulderblock Uriah, he flips over Haze's back, he drapes
himself down Haze's back and snap sunset flips him over for two. He goes
out and fetches the kendo stick, referee takes it away but Uriah goes back
to the chair. Jay Fenix hops the rail, jumps in the ring and drop kicks the
chair barely catching Uriah in the face with it. Haze with a move that
looks suspiciously like Sage Ramsey's Final Fall and wins it.

WINNER: Christian Haze pin -> 5:25 mins. **¼

This match should had run longer than it did. Haze grabs the mike and says
something but we can't hear them very well. Christian basically wants to
wrestle Jay Fenix later this evening for his first match back. Fenix
accepts. Sound problems with the mikes plagued the entire evening. The
crooked Jeremy the ref comes out to officiate the next match, and the crowd
REALLY lets him have it. They loudly boo him and chant "YOU SUCK" to which
the dimwit just waves his arms.

MPW Tag Team Championship
(c)Chico Es Loco 5'10" 150lbs. Mexico, MO & "Shooter"
Curtis Payne 6'0"
240lbs. Chicago, IL vs. Brutality Inc. 595lbs. Detroit, MI - Dangerous Derek
Davis 6'2" & Rough Cut Rick Ruby 6'0" - Davis and Payne
start, Payne slaps
Davis, Davis slaps Payne then they start slugging away at each other.
Shoulderblock Davis, whip reverse clothesline Payne. Davis bails, comes
back in, slugs away on Payne and tags Ruby. Double whip double elbow,
double elbowdrop. Whip clothesline Ruby, choke, headbutt. Headbutt doesn't
work, Payne with a kick to the head, tag CEL. Missile dropkick CEL, DDT
gets two. Oh by the way, the ceiling's low in this building so top rope
moves will be rare. Legdrop CEL gets two. Suplex is blocked, suplex Ruby.
Tag Davis, tag Payne. Payne clobbers everyone, drop kick on Davis sends him
out. Axe off the apron, post ram Payne. Toss in, second rope blockbuster,
tag CEL. Then out of nowhere two masked men jump in the ring and start
waylaying on Payne & Loco for the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT FINISH at 6:30 mins.

NO WINNER: NO CONTEST -> 6:30 mins. **

One masked guy gives Loco a DDT, clothesline off the top for Payne. Dimwit
Jeremy the ref takes forever to ring the bell. The guy wearing a blue
jacket who's not wearing a mask grabs the mike and runs his mouth, id'ing
his team as "S&M". We don't get a name for their punk kid
manager, though
if he did say it I couldn't hear him. Someone says it's former MPW ring
announcer Zach Fox. That's run-in number two, screwjob number three for
those keeping score. Match was going okay until the BS ending.

Chris Powell comes out and brings out Cowboy Bob Orton, The Searcher, Damian
Blade, and the Chipster. Powell announces that Orton can't wrestle tonight
due to some injury and the MPW Board of Directors wants him stripped of the
title. Orton has the mike, says something but NO ONE can hear him and he
holds the mike far from his face despite repeated shouts for him to speak
up. I manage to catch that he has a back injury but that's all. Orton says
he's gonna seek a second opinion and get himself cleared this week. Powell
agrees to give him a week against the board's wishes. We still can't hear
Orton. There isn't a show next weekend. We go to intermission.

During intermission which lasts a lengthy 30 minutes, some drunken cowboy
decides to make a smart*** remark at me cause I mention I did not want to be
caught in a photo where kids are posing for pictures with a wrestler. As
far as I'm concerned, he wasn't wearing a hat, he was wearing his arse on
his head.

Blade comes back out with the Searcher after intermission and announces he
can't wrestle tonight due to his recent carpel tunnel surgery so there's
gonna be a #1 contender match to the hardcore title.

Triple Threat Hardcore Match
Xavier Frost 6'3" 230lbs. Parts Unknown vs. Scar 6'8" 400lbs. Parts Unknown
w/ Mr. Insecurity vs. Wapo Choncho 6'2" 250lbs. Parts Unknown - This match
was announced as elimination. The ring announcer pronounced it "Floppo
Chocco" (where do they COME UP with these names?), anyway he's wearing a red
and black outfit, is most likely enhancement talent. All these guys hail
from parts unknown, I think that's a first. Frost is the former Sloth, Scar
is the former Gluttony. Wapo floppos down into the mat after a
shoulderblock attempt against Scar and gets chokeslammed. Kendo stick shots
by Frost on Scar, and they have NO effect! Scar with a clothesline on
Frost, he bails, Scar follows. Mr. Insecurity tries to give Scar hulk
hands. Frost back in with a chair and blasts Wapo with it, he goes floppo
to the mat. Scar puts a table in the ring, Frost his a suplex. Scar gets
in, Frost has the mandible claw on Wapo, Scar breaks it up, slam, legdrop.
Table is put in the corner, Frost pulls Mr. Insecurity in and slugs him in
the corner. Scar powerbombs Wapo through the table, Scar turns around and
charges Frost but he moves and Mr. Insecurity was left to be squashed with a
splash. Frost with a pedigree on the chair for Wapo. Scar takes Mr.
Insecurity to the back, hey I thought Ron Jeremy said it was an elimination
match??? I dunno if I've ever seen a triple threat where it was two stars
and a jobber, but this was a squash win nonetheless.

WINNER: Xavier Frost pin -> 4:15 mins. ½*

Damian asks Searcher if this Frost guy won, so looks like he gets a shot for
his title. USA chant fires up to bug Frost, Blade offers to shake hands,
Frost slaps him. Blade hits Frost with some sit-down move (perhaps it was
the inverted stunner though it didn't look like it), then a DDT. Mr. Bigg
walks over and counts a pin for Blade. He throws the hulk hands in the
ring, Blade dons them, winds up with his good arm, BAM! Searcher throws the
kendo stick in, Blade shouts it's time to go to school and whacks him in the
head. Blade says when you mess with him, school's back in session. Frost
slowly gets up after they leave and takes a parting jab at the country.

Jay Fenix 5'11" 175lbs. Tampa, FL vs. Christian Haze 6'2" 250lbs. Phoenix,
AZ - The masked man known as Referee X is the official. They shake hands to
start, lockup shove Haze, hip toss. Takedown Fenix, wrestling on the mat,
headlock Haze, Jay kicks his way out, chops. Whip reverse Fenix
hurraconranna blocked, sitdown powerbomb Haze. Jay rolls out, Haze holds
the ropes for him but he slaps him in the face. He chops away, Haze flips
him around and chops him back, Jay flips him around and chops away, whip
reverse splash Haze misses and he goes tumbling out. Suicide crossbody
Fenix, Haze posts Jay, chop on the rail. Jay whip reverse Haze gets posted.
Toss in, Jay with a knee, death valley driver blocked, spinning powerslam
Haze gets two. Haze whip to the corner but he eats a boot. Fenix goes up,
crossbody. He goes up again, frogsplash gets two and Referee X just stops
counting. Fenix gets in his face, Referee X attacks him and hits an
inverted spinning neckbreaker! WTF??? Referee X pulls Haze on top of Fenix
and counts it.

WINNER: Christian Haze pin -> 6:30 mins. **½

Referee X yanks the mask off and it's Uriah. Darn it! Match was too short,
I was enjoying it, and HE HAD to just ruin it for us all. Haze slowly gets
up and fetches the mike. He says he's his buddy, and he had nothing to do
with what Uriah did. Jay thinks it's a conspiracy and he doesn't just lose
matches. Fenix is fuming, then charges Haze. Security starts filling up
the ring to pull them apart, but Jay manages to keep diving over people to
get at Haze.

MPW Tag Team Championship
(c)Chico Es Loco 5'10" 150lbs. Mexico, MO & "Shooter"
Curtis Payne 6'0"
240lbs. Chicago, IL vs. Brutality Inc. 595lbs. Detroit, MI - Dangerous Derek
Davis 6'2" & Rough Cut Rick Ruby 6'0" - They're running this
match again?
Ruby nails CEL, leg hook side suplex, side suplex. Whip boot Ruby, tag
Davis. Double whip, double hip toss, double clothesline. Death valley
driver Davis gets two. Knee to the head Davis, tag Ruby, kick to the gut.
Whip flying headscissors CEL. Tag Payne, clothesline, superkick on Davis
off the apron into the rail. Whip clothesline Payne, turnbuckle smash, goes
to the second rope, sunset flip misses. Ruby holds him sideways, legdrop
double team. Davis knocks CEL off, and those two masked S&M thugs run back
out here and punch Ruby in the head with a weapon, knocking him OUT. Davis
jumps out of the ring and runs them off, Payne covers and pins him. WTF???
That was your main event, by the way.

WINNER and STILL CHAMPS: Chico Es Loco & "Shooter" Curtis
Payne pin -> 5:05
mins. *½

Ruby is hurt and has a bad cut on his head. Davis is pissed off at being
screwed out of their title shot for the second time tonight.

Okay here's my BIG problem with this, and you all better be taking notes.
We should have had ONE ten to twelve minute tag match without these guys
running out here and ruining everything and gotten one good match out of it
instead of two short not so great matches instead with the "sports
entertainment finishes." I mean if these two "S&M"
losers wanted to make a
statement so bad they could had just sauntered out after the match was over
to do their dirty work but all they did was screw the fans over. Heck these
"S&M" guys didn't even wrestle a match tonight! They tag the
last match of
the night as the "main event" when it really was not much of one and it was
a match we already had earlier in the night on a six-match show. I mean
geez, I open my mouth and point out this stuff and someone throws a temper
tantrum over me daring to say something. Like the emperor is walking down
the parade route BUCK NAKED! Curse you little boy for stating the obvious!
Final score: five screwjobs, four variations of a run-in, no match over
seven minutes.

MAIN EVENT INTERVIEW. What the heck? Wasn't this the big problem with the
WWE that was killing the ratings for it? And we get a main event interview
to close out this show. Chris Powell comes back out and says he was just
phoned by the MPW Board of Ingrate Directors and if he doesn't strip Bob
Orton of his belt, he's fired. Orton, Searcher, Blade, Chipster come back
out. Powell doesn't want to do it but he has to or he's fired. Orton says
something but he's NOT TALKING INTO THE MICROPHONE again. Orton says he
doesn't care about Powell's job and pops him with the belt. Orton messes up
his shoulder doing it, now all four of them are pounding on Powell.
Christian Haze runs out, security jumps in, Chico Es Loco in, Payne, even
Jaden. The four men manage to beat the crap out of EVERYONE, security,
referees, wrestlers. Scar comes in to try doing something but even he gets
taken out. Blade and Searcher continue kicking and pounding away on
everyone. Searcher POWERBOMBS Mr. Insecurity. Searcher puts Powell in a
camel clutch, they continue to scream bloody murder, then say they are the
Independent Icons. They keep screaming at people as they depart, can't hear
hardly anything of what they were ranting about, and threaten Mr. Bigg.
They throw the MPW Power Hour sign off the entrance and pull the banners
down. Bunch of whiners they are. Thanks MPW Board of INGRATE Directors,
you guys force someone to do your dirty work for ya and hide under your
desks. These guys saved MPW from the Legion and you turned on them and made
them the NEW LEGION. BTW, when did Orton defend his title last? This show
is over ending in a real downer.

I don't know WHAT IT IS with this promotion, but they have a good show, then
a bad show, then a good show, then a bad show, or something. People are
happy when I give a good review and the hounds are released from hell when I
give a bad review. Already the patrons are screaming bloody murder about my
comments, and I originally was gonna include them here but I ultimately
decided against doing so. But a little advice, take a look at
http://www.livejournal.com/~rspwfaq/ and see if you're reminded of anyone
when the readers comment on the rants.

The Verdict: Once again like the last show in Bethalto, the frequent
run-ins killed the show, and the main event interview freakout by Orton,
Searcher & Blade ending the show in a real downer left me with more
dissatisfaction. Yeah the crowd was into it, and so was I but after the
show is over, how many are satisfied with the outcome? I don't feel
satisfied, that's the bottom line. It is just bizarre how they're booking
this as they are trying to come up with more and more ways to do a screwjob
and run-in. I even stated at halftime that if there was going to be any
more run-ins I was gonna be pissed. And it was a six short match show. Not
at all what I was expecting.

Thumbs down.
