Bob, at 08:35 on May 29 1996, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... BG> The violence of 40 years ago is nothing like the violence of today. BL> Every heard of a razor gang? They call them skinheads now. BG> Yeah, but the difference is that the current breed of BG> anti-socials turds don't discriminate at all when selecting BG> victims. Old ladies, cripples, you name it, they're all fair BG> game now. Evil little cunts, they are... BL> That's true. Kids don't have any respect. And most of them can't even spell the word. BL> My mother is 90, and she's had to stop travelling after 3 when the school BL> kids are loose... they won't give her a seat in the bus or the train. A quick thrashing with her walking stick should solve that problem. :) BL> The little shits need a good kicking. Presumably you mean as the victims... BG> That's sure changed. My brother not long ago sold his restored BG> terrace in Wilson Street, for around $450k. I'd be lucky to get BG> $80k for my 3 bedroom home on a ¬ acre block right now (should BG> have pissed off 5 years ago, when it was worth $100k or so). BG> Talk about negative gearing! BL> Yair... the poofters moved in. It's true! The couple who bought Alan's place were indeed poofs. BL> It were just beginning 22 years ago when we moved out. The old terrace at BL> Newtown was $24K compared to the $29K here. Now a big terrace like that is BL> $400K+ as you say, and this one is $300K. It's mainly the proximity to the city, uni, hospital, etc which has caused that. I remember one time before Jack refurbished his place at Pearl (must have been around 1987), a valuer came around and told Jack that his place was worth $180k. He then asked what just the land was worth, and got precisely the same answer. :) BL> In Campbelltown I can get away with it because no one sees or BL> if they do, they don't know me. BG> Or simply don't care. That's the attitude I can feel around here. BL> You could be right. If we get a hoon chucking wheelies I'm usually BL> the one who goes out and yells at him. Jeeze, you're keen. If you did that here, you'd come home to a trashed house the next night. The fellow next door has confronted quite a few hoons, and has since had his VP Commodore stolen 3 times, and trashed twice. I prefer to adopt a slightly lower profile myself. :) Regards, Bill @EOT: --- MsgedSQ/2 3.30* Origin: Logan City, SEQ (3:640/305.9) SEEN-BY: 640/305 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
