BS>Delphi 3, for example, advertises "New! Native connectiveity to MS
BS>Access, FoxPro, dBase, and Paradox". Can anybody tell me where that
BS>new feature is to be found?
Hi, I run the Delphi 3 Information Page on the internet; I can help you on
this.
Access to MS Access databases is available in all three (soon to be four)
versions of Delphi 3.
The catch is that you must have already installed Office 95 or Access 95
(Not the 97 version) in order to use the Access driver that is in BDE 4.0.
As for FoxPro, it only works on FoxPro tables up to version 2.6. VFP 3 and
higher tables can't be accessedthrough the current BDE driver, although yYou
might be able to use OLE automation and directly load the VFP dll's (I did
this with the MS Access ones).
Paradox is the native database for Delphi.
All of these are available in the BDE 4.0 Administrator.
