==> A hush fell over the room when Joan Renne said to Elaine Loveless <==
JR> Dayum, you too? I'm having a second flare up of fibromyalgia, and
JR> there are times when it literally hurts to breath. I also learned
JR> recently that our painful muscle disease is one of the complaints
JR> included in the Gulf War Syndrome. According to the VA Medical people
JR> there isn't anything they can do about it. Makes a person feel just
JR> REAL good! NOT!
Joan, send me your address. I'm going to send you an article from
the Massage Therapist Journal on treatment for Fibromayalgia. It's
the only thing to come along that seems to work. It has to do with
working with a good massage therapist to retrain the muscles which
are locked in a pain/spasm cycle and have "forgotten" how to lengthen
and relax. It's not a short term thing...but it has proven succesful
in some major studies that are cited in the article.
Elaine and Rain, if you're listening, there are copies on their way
to you too.
Harriet
P.S. If you have an Inet email address, I can have my mother send you
the borscht recipe. Yes, my parents are on the internet ;-)
