Hi Vadim,
VM> Would you be so kind as to explain me what the ISDN is?
ISDN is an alternative to normal phone-lines. Normal phone-lines use audio
signals for communication, while ISDN lines use digital signals.
In the past the problem was to convert digital data (from the computer) to
audio signals (for the phone-lines) and re-converting them afterwards.
Therefore the modem was created (MOulator DEModulator). However, as
comm-speeds increased, line quality became too poor to support higher speeds.
Therefore phone-companies started working in a new direction: digital phone
lines. ISDN has the advantage that only minimal translation has to be done by
the modem (no more than error-correction, session handshaking, ...). ISDN
lines are also faster than conventional lines (64Kbps is about the fastest I
have seen to date).
That's all,
Bye!
And the most interesting part is:
Fact: fourteen out of every ten people like chocolate.
