That is hardly true in any real sense of the word, however I do concede that
some guys just don't like women; some people don't like automation; some
people don't like food; some people don't like science......ad nauseum.
RW> There's no "community" on the internet, like the local BBS has.
There most assuredly IS !!!!!!!!! Huge communities....small communities...
AND, *many* of them.

So? Use a good news reader and filter out what you don't want.

So STOP reading that stuff. No one is forcing you.

So? There are junkyards in every beautiful city, too.
RW> The BBS will stick around for a while longer. It may even see a

It will stick around for the diehards; for the gamesters; for the porn
addicts; and for other sleaze.....yes. The BBS cannot possibly compete with
the good side of the Internet in any respect, form, or fashion.
The numbers bear me out. The number of BBS's has been on a dramatic decline
since November, 1995.
But......there are still people using horses & buggies; CoCo and Apple IIe
computers; and even doing their daily constitutionals in outdoor privvies.
There will always be a BBS around somewhere.
Nevertheless, the BBS is *dead*.....even for those who don't like it. There
are better and more economical ways to do what BBS's do.....like freight
trains compared to ox-carts. But yes, there are a few oxen and carts still
around.
