Most instructions call for drying the leaves, then crumbling them into
whatever you want sweetened. The fresh herb has a bit of a "green"
taste, if you know what I mean. Drying eliminates that. However, an
alternate method I've heard (never used) is to nibble on a green leaf,
then take a swallow of your beverage.
The leaves dry easily if the humidity isn't too high.
