Whats your current rim size?  And what tire size do you consider too wide?
Are you looking for a work tire or a street tire? 
 You could always go for GM truck rally wheels, (70's & 80's).  15x6 and
15x7 are on just about everything. You'll need to look a little harder for 6
lug versions though. These wheels will take the standard p235/75-15 tires to
wider p255/70-15 sizes.
