-> ^^ ^^
-> I hasten to say, I am not an engine expert. But am certain, that thos
-> efficiency figures are grossly overstated. For an engine there is onl
-> accepted formula for efficiency and that is
Well, the fellow I spoke with is an engineer, and has been working
with this for quite a while. He is calculating the energy of the fuel,
and the electricity and heat produced. BTW, when I spoke with him
earlier this week, he said the figures are even a bit better than that.
His company doesn't even sell these to the public. He is doing the
development work for Intelligen.
-> For practical engines the usual value is way below 50%, most of the
-> fuel being wasted out the exhaust and thru the radiator.
They reclaim the exhaust and cooling heat. Doesn't leave much but
some pumping losses.
-> Oh yes, and the wallet gets greatly reduced too! ;-)
Perhaps. I have not run the numbers to see if there is a payback
period, and how long. The cost is around $10,000US.
