Same diff, right?  Small component, the + and - supplies are probably already 
present in the Ramsey Kit - a couple of caps, a resistor here or there and an 
output transistor to drive the speaker, and voila!

Good point.  A glance at the schematic would prove what could be a 
"modification" for a later stage 
Probably some chip in there that will do just the same thing, that's not got 
an input and it's corresponding output being used.
