MR> > GCC is free; I got it off some cheap free-/shareware cd, but then again, > that version didn't seem to work ok. Good luck finding a site > that has it, but I sure as hell couldn't find any os2 > version. MR> Originally there were two ports of GCC to OS/2. GCC/2 was discontinued sometime last year in favour of Eberhard Mattes' port, EMX C++. You can get hold of EMX C++ from any good OS/2 files site, including Fernwood (1:141/109.0) and OS/2 Shareware (1:109/347.0). You can also get it from my bossnode here (2:440/4.0) and from the home nodes of several stalwarts of the OS2PROG echo, such as Mike Bilow and hugo landsman. FREQ FILES for details. EMX C++ is also available on the "Hobbes OS/2 Ready-to-Run" CD-ROM from Walnut Creek CD-ROM, in a form that allows you to run the compiler directly from the CD-ROM. So next time someone asks about GCC and EMX, you won't have an excuse to say that there "isn't an OS/2 version" and that you didn't know where to look, will you ? > JdeBP < ___ X MegaMail 2.10 #0: --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: DoNoR/2,Woking UK (44-1483-725167) (2:440/4) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 440/4 141/209 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
