I should have thought of that myself, being a dog owner too.  My amazon
constantly calls the dogs by name and adds little things here and there.
Of course he/she does not realize that through the years some of the
dogs are deceased, and still calls them.  My favorite is when I am
feeding one of the dogs, who looks more like a pig, so naturally I go
"Come on piggy, come here" and Capt. (amazon) says it amost to the same
intonation, which get the dog quite confused, especially if it's not meal
time.  Capt. loves to call them all the time, it gets pretty amusing to say
the least.
