That has basically been my experience thus far.  There are ones that come
close though, Slackware being one.  FreeBSD was okay but I found it a tad
'anal' (<-for the lack of a better term).  I prefer something flexible
but also with a solid foundation.  So far that has been Slackware despite
some needed tweaks.

That happens to me every now and then.  Sometimes I have to kickstart
myself or take a breather now and then.
