I had a saga with my T23 that came with a W2k preinstall. Using DFSEE I
was able to shrink the single FAT32 C partition (29 gig) down to about 20,
but repeated windows defrag wouldn't get rid of isolated clusters at the
top end.
PM 3 wouldn't shrink the partition, so I bought PM 7 for $15 on ebay
(includied shipping!). I had LVM'd the machine after the partial shrink
and done some stuff (defining partitions in preparation for eCS install)
and then used PM7 to seriously shrink the C partition. Subsequently LVM
threw up on a corrupt partition table. Jan and I worked on this for a
while, but what worked nicely was to blow away LVM and everything except
the W2k partition and a couple of FAT partitions for W2k progs and data.
Then went back and re-LVM'd and installed eCS 1.1 with not a single hitch.
Moral - use PM as needed to shrink an obstinate partition, but lock it
away once LVM is on the machine.
