Hi Kerry:
I have done some more work with Win95 and TMW and
thought you might be interested in the results.
My son and I have a four station, peer to peer
ethernet network set up in our house. It is on a coaxial cable
and can be broken into two separate networks. We have two phone
lines so we can communicate by Fax. We can also communicate thru
a dial-ip network setup. We are also on the internet. As you can
see, we have a pretty good test bed to work with.
I think our problem has stemmed from too much
familiarity. Old hand Windows users get so used to double
clicking our way in and out of programs that we forget to look
at the Menus.
We have found that if we have been using Microsoft
Exchange and particularly the FAX facility, we can break the Fax
Modem capture simply by going to the File menu and clicking on the
Exit and Log Off at the bottom of the menu. We had been leaving
MS Exchange just by clicking on the X in the upper right hand
corner. When we did it this way MS Exchange would not release the
FAX Modem Capture. There are two Exit comands, Exit and Exit and
Log Off. I just hadn't noticed that before because I was doing things
the easy way.
I hope that this is of some interest to you. TTYL
JIM
