Speaking of the Decca tapes... Consuelo Velázquez, who wrote
"Besame Mucho" back in 1941, has died aged 88. The Independent
newspaper has an interesting obituary by Spencer Leigh which
includes five paragraphs on the song's allegedly remarkable
influence on later Lennon/McCartney songwriting:
