So what were you saying Bill, something about telling me to
stick my apology to you up my arse? Dear oh dear, how the
mighty have fallen.
It's quite simple really, Bill - be FUCKING CAREFUL when
*debating* with me. It doesn't matter whether you're the
teacher or what, it is NORMAL for me to be in a minority
of 1 or 2 (usually), yet be the one who is correct. I'm
not really sure why. Honestly I would have expected more
people to listen to what I was saying, work through the
logic themselves, and understand that they were wrong.
An example being the teacher + class ganging up on me at
school for telling them that the number of trees in Fiji
was not infinite. When it's so bloody easy to point out
that Fiji is say (for good measure, 3 million billion
trillion zillion square centimetres in size), and then
for good measure, the number of trees that can fit into
one square centimeters is 1 million billion trillion
zillion. Multiply the numbers together and you don't get
infinity. The teacher's argument went something along the
lines of the trees keeping on growing, even when you keep
chopping them down. Bizaare. As bizaare as you thinking
that it is Perfectly Reasonable for the modem to be sending
"OK" at 38400 but "RING" at 57600. Completely bizaare.
Anyway, I'm not as impolite as you, and will not be telling
you to stick your apology up your arse.
BTW, I would not have minded at all if the response to my
complaint about this BUG was "Yes, that's a minor bug I
agree, and I have been able to reproduce it here". Yes, I've
got a workaround, always save to NVRAM. That makes it a minor
bug indeed, albeit a pain. See you round. Paul.
