I have a tendancy, when I work on any kind of craft,
to be focused on that I tend to lose track of the
time. Yesterday that was especially the case (although
I did have fun doing it!) :-)
I think I've mentioned that I, and some of the
children I know (ages 13-14-10, some younger) are
stenciling butterfly's on my car using acrylic
paints. Yesterday I got started doing a border
around my car, although I only finished most of
one side in 4 hours, and totally forgot about
the warming temperatures, the sun, and my sensitivity
to heat and to the sun, made worse by the meds that
I was on.
As a result I ended up with major back pain, heat
exhaustion, sunburned arms & the tops of my legs
since I was sitting in a chair, and today I itch
all over my body as well! Nobody else got sun-
burned. So, I'm paying for my excesses. Thankfully
I found, at Sears, a sunscreen #30 (I know...but
better later than never) :-) and a moisturizor
that had no fragrances, dyes, etc which I could
use.
I also borrowed money to get a small air conditioner
for those days when temperatures are in excess of
about 77 degrees. We've already had a number of days
with temperatures over 80 and we aren't even in summer
yet!
I've also made up my mind that it would be better if
I supervised my car artwork :-) from inside the
house. With the older kids who have been doing it
the last couple of times, I can trust the younger
ones out there with them supervising. It's become
a joint project. A friend told me it was reminiscent
of the 70's when the "flower children" painted their
vans. Ah well. If it makes me happy that is what
matters right?
I've been stamping and coloring periodically, and
have done some sewing and a little x-stitch, although
not much of that lately. I've also been working at
keeping caught up with my correspondance, both on-line
and snail mail. I must say that I am behind in both
which is unusual for me. But the pain has been bad
enough that it's kept me from much of it.
I was thinking yesterday how many projects that I wanted
to do (more stamping, creating bags from envelopes,
sponging regular bags, reading, doing the correspondance,
sorting through my buttons again and making my
alphabet x-stitch banner with buttons) and not
enough time to do them all in.
BTW I am looking for a button shaped like a quarter
note for the letter Q..it's the only think that I can
think of unless I use a duck for quack?
You'd think I have lots of time considering that I am
unable to work, but that hasn't been the case with
everything. Especially when I am doing volunteer
work as well.
I know I digressed a little bit to non-crafting things,
but I think I am still on-topic here.
