I felt that way about social networking sites in general at one point, but then I caved and joined Facebook. It's not so bad as long as you can mentally filter out the sheer idiocy you'll see from day to day in some friends' status updates, not to mention being bombarded with "invitations" to use this, that or the other lamoid app on the site from the same friends. And the latest example of totally brain dead 'innovation' on the site is the new format 'groups' - whereby friends can 'add' you to a group. Yes, *add* you. Not *invite* you, which you could decline (or just ignore), but actually *add* you, so that if you don't want to be a member of their latest daft group, having been added you have to go to the effort of removing yourself. (Once removed, you can't then be added - but that does miss the point somewhat!) Why am I still on Facebook, again? I seem to have forgotten. :| [...] -- Vince M Hudd: http://misc.vinceh.com Soft Rock: http://www.softrock.co.uk --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32* Origin: Time Warp of the Future BBS - Home of League 10 (1:14/400) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 14/400 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
