| subject: | Battery Size Trivia |
EV>TW>I nsearchine the Internet for the "A" battery I found that there are EV>TW>curreently in production Twelve Standard Sizes of single cell batteries. EV>TW>They are in Increasing size order, AAAA, AAA, AA, A, SC(Sub C, C, D, F, EV>TW>Super F, G, J, and #6 EV>Tom, I just remembered the N battery that looks like a shorter AA EV>battery that some Clocks use. EV>A friend, some years ago, got such a clock and I told them to go to EV>Radio Shack to get a N battery and sure enough they had it. EV>Since RS doesn't print a full catalog anymore and I don't waste my EV>precious 10 free hours on NetZero browing On-Line I can't find it, but I EV>have a copy of their last catalog and a Alkaline N battery is listed as EV>well as an more expensive Nickle-Metal Hydride N battery. I had inadvertently left out the "N" battery. It is a popular one for Pocket Pagers. But it is of reliatiavely recent introduction compaired to that "A", "C", "D" series of cells. A quick check of The Radio Shack Web site shows that they omnl;y carry teh Alkaline "N" battereis under cat # 23-023 But NiCAD and NiMH rechargable "N" batteries are avaialble from other sources. The Standard "N" cell is 11.5 MM Diameter and 28 MM tall. There are two variations. The 1/3 "N" at 10.8 MM Tall and the 4/3 "N" at 44.5 MM Tall. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
