Can you find anything about Freddie Raynham? He became a close
friend here in the U.S. not long before he died. He had one of the
first (20 or less) pilot licenses in Great Britain. Hhe was a
test pilot for DeHaviland, and pioneer in powered and gliders.
They declared him too old to fly in WW II and too important to
fly in WW I. He was a Group Captain in WW II for accident
investigation. I have an article on his attempts to fly the Atlantic
before Alcock and Brown... Anything else would be appreciated.
I do have one old B & W photo of him that I took about 1943.
He looked more the professor than a famous pilot pioneer.
