| subject: | KNOPPIX 3.9 last CD |
WC>-> JE>TA>but this is probably going to be the last KNOPPIX WC>-> JE>TA>live cd. It is forecast that in August the version WC>-> JE>TA>will only fit on a DVD, as will all hereafter. WC>-> JE>Mushrooming just as Windows did. :-) WC>-> NOT at all. The basic program will still be LINUX Lean and Mean. BUT WC>-> they will be including a mind Boggiling selection of Public Domain WC>-> programs to pick form and to satisfy almost any desire. WC>-> But as I stated in the other post a Live CD sized version with a WC>-> much smaller selection of additional programs will STILL be avaiable. WC>Thanks for clarifying this for me. WC>No idea what this dated BIOS supports by way of DVD. Actualy the BIOS just looks at a DVD drive as just another IDE device. Al lthe recognition comes with the OS and other software. IF the software is avaiable the DVD should work. I don't follow LINUX al lthat close so don't know what advances they have amde on playing movie DVD's, which was a problem some years back. I would expect NO problem with Data DVD's. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
