SH> The girls at the vet's office told me he made sure they understood SH> he wanted to go home this morning by yelling at them. (Of course SH> he flirted with them SH> all day yesterday so they all love him anyway) :) Had him altered and SH> de clawed as he just wouldn't listen to us when we tried training him SH> and destroyed quite a bit of furnature around here. :( Not to be a spoils sport but I read in a Dr. Fox (ask the vet) column not long ago that wen cats rub up against us, it's not to flirt or say hi.. it's "You are MINE" It's the way they mark us with their scent which is much more polite than how they and their canine buddies do the great outdoors. Shawn. The reason your cat didn't listen to you is two fold. First cats and dogs go by non verbal language. Water or mild pepper spray might have deterred your cat from the furniture. Having a good safe (non loop type carpet) scratching post for the cat would have been helpful. Declawing a cat is taking away their last defense. I'm surprised your vet agreed to do it. But then (sigh) some vets are very desperate for money.
