Good luck on finding some ribbon embroidery.  I'm positive you will like
how it comes out if you try.  It's relatively easy and very impressive.
Remember ot do the stitches much looser than traditional embroidery.
That was the hard part for me.
As with you, I am a former Bronx (New York City) girl.  I now live in
New Jersey about 15 miles west of the LIncoln Tunnel, but I still work
in New York for The Salvation Army.  I work in foster care and adoption.
Let me know if you need more tips on using ribbon.  Many of the women on
the echo do ribbon work.
