Actually I never did end up sitting in front of the TV,
because the TV was bust, so never got around to trying
to open it.  By the time it was fixed, the cable had
been moved (by Xiayi again).  However, now it is near
the computer, but I just tried to open it, and the only
thing I could see to do was stick my fingernail in and
yank.  At the limits of plastic strength, I let the
cable win.  BFN.  Paul.
