Looking at the quick changing between 1900 and 2000, it is likely
that jet planes and solar cars will be ancient ancient history by
2100. Extrapolation from current technologies is a looser in long
term prognostication! It would better wage us to say that by
2100 (if still here as the present species?) we would be plugging
into stars for power. And yes! the rich would still have first call
on the biggest best stars!

Mess??? .......What might be called a mess could become a bonanza.
As nature taught "life" to love oxygen (hear tell it started out
as a nasty to life), so will she teach us to enjoy CO2 like it
was candy (with a little help from Procter and Gamble labs). Might
take the FDA a few careful years to approve it. Imagine a custom
designed airborn bacterium that takes in CO2; reproduces a thousand
fold then falls to the ground as sugar. The problem of not having
enough CO2 then becomes a next challenge.
NOTE: *IF* a cosmic disaster: The human species might be required to
retire ...but there seems some even chance that another
species (equally deserving) might have a shot as big kid on
the block.

Just hiding in some resin to eventually come back as nearly

Japanese-Russian team working on DNA taken from frozen mastodon
sperm to be merged into elephant egg (and carried to birth by
elephant). They figure an even chance of recreating "A" mastodon
or possible interstage between it and elephant. They did not state
the technical path to revitalizing the DNA (if that is necessary).
